Dear Sir or Madam,
The Ministry for the Environment and Transport of the
German State of Baden-W=FCrttemberg and the Centre
for European Economic Research in Mannheim /
Germany are organising an international conference on
"Flexible Mechanisms for an Efficient Climate Policy"
which will be held in Stuttgart on July 27-28, 1999.
The aim of the conference is twofold. Firstly, it wants to
make politicians, business and the public more aware of
the necessity and the potentials of cost efficient
instruments in climate policy, especially of emissions
trading. This is done on the first day of the conference
which will gather high level politicians from EU-countries,
scientists, media, and company representatives.
Secondly, it wants to offer a forum for discussion between
leading economists and lawyers doing research in the field
of emissions trading, JI, and CDM. This is done on the
second day.
The conference is open to all interested people and is free
of registration fees. For the agenda and additional
information please see http://www.zew.de and click
"seminare" and "veranstaltungskalender".
