Hello Dreamer,
With a word change here and there and a couple of somewhat different
examples, you have written my story too. I had those same sensations, as a
child, teenager, young adult farmer, teaching my children how to kill, skin,
and properly butcher rabbits so they could earn a little "walking around"
money that I couldn't afford.
Dreamer, you said in part:
>You ask why I am "revolted" at something humans have been doing for
>millions of years. It's simple. My conscience tells me that it's often
>wrong. My reasoning tells me that it's often unnecessary. History
>tells me that humans are often extremely cruel and vicious and
>ignorant. It also tells me that we have a choice not to be so. I
>choose not to be so.
And those are my conclusions too. It was and, in some places, still is
necessary for survival. Necessity and choice are the fundamental criteria
for such acts.
Imho,
Ray
