Hello Everyone.
I'm sorry if you recieve this message more than once.
As this is the first message that I've sent to the mailing lists a quick intro.
I'm a postgrad student at the University of Plymouth.
I study geological hazards and risk assessment, and particularly the
landslide hazard being posed to local communities in SE Spain.
Further info can be found at my website which is soon to be updated
(see signature below).
Now the message:
I am partly involved with the forthcoming Calar Conference ("Living with
Natural Hazards") that is being held in Vienna in January next year
(17th - 19th January).
The CALAR project is a concerted action supported by the European
Commission, DG XII Environment and Climate Programme, for reduction
of landslide and avalanche risks.
The main objective of CALAR is to compile and disseminate existing
knowledge and methods of risk assessment and warning systems
related to landslide and avalanche problems.
A further objective of CALAR is to create links between different scientific
disciplines, end-users and administrators.
Detailed information about the conference, the wide ranging and
interesting programme, the 2nd Bulletin and the Registration Form
are now downloadable from the Internet at the following URL:
http://www.geoforum.com/contacts/events/guide/calar/
Thank you for your time.
Andy
