Research Studentships in the Department of Economics
The department intends to make available a number of studentships to
undertake postgraduate study for PhD. The studentships will be for 3
years, with (home) fees paid and a grant equal to the ESRC rate, the
student will be required to undertake a limited amount of tutorial
teaching (at an appropriate level).
The department was awarded a 5 in the last RAE exercise; and seeks
students who want to be part of the ongoing research activity in the
department. Applicants should either hold (or anticipate receiving a
Master's degree in economics though applicants with a first degree
(first class or strong upper second) will be considered. The area of
study for these studentships is open; though applications in the
following areas would be of particular interest

Graduate Labour Markets Economics of Safety
Youth Labour Markets Transitional Economics
Labour Market Flexibility Econometrics
Economics of Executive Compensation Economics of Divorce
