CIMclad: COMPUTER-INTEGRATED MANUFACTURE OF CLADDING SYSTEMS
1. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - Ref CV/80 (£16,286 - £24,479 pa)
Applications are invited for the above 2-year post to work on a major
research project funded by the EPSRC and DETR under the LINK MCNS
Programme. The project will focus on the development of models and
strategies for the computer-integrated manufacture of cladding systems. The
successful applicant will join a vibrant research team at Loughborough
University and will collaborate with a second RA based at the University of
Leeds and the 10 industrial collaborators on the project.
Applicants should have a good honours degree in an architectural,
engineering or construction discipline, and relevant practical and/or
research experience. Previous experience of the cladding sector would be an
advantage. Preference would be given to candidates with a PhD (or close to
completing one).
2. RESEARCH STUDENT - Ref CV/ST1 (Fees and Maintenance Grant will be paid)
A 3-year PhD Research Studentship is also available to support the Research
Associate on the project. The focus of the research student's work will be
on the development of a framework for applying the product, process and
information models emerging from the CIMclad project to a range of cladding
types. Applicants should have a good honours degree in a relevant
discipline and will be expected to register for a higher degree. EPSRC
eligibility requirements apply.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT FOR IMPROVED BUSINESS PERFORMANCE
3. RESEARCH ASSOCIATE - Ref CV/81 (£16,286 - £24,479 pa)
A Research Associate is required for 3 years to work on a new research
project funded by the EPSRC under its Innovative Manufacturing Initiative
(IMI). The project will involve the development of a knowledge management
framework that will enable contracting firms to improve their business
performance. There will be close collaboration with the 10 industrial
partners on the project.
Applicants should have a good honours degree in an engineering or
construction discipline. Previous research experience in knowledge
management, business performance measurement, or quality management would
be an advantage. Preference would be given to candidates with a PhD (or
close to completing one).
4. RESEARCH STUDENT - Ref CV/ST2 (Fees and Maintenance Grant will be paid)
A 3-year PhD Research Studentship is also available to support the Research
Associate on the project. The research student will investigate IT support
for knowledge management in contracting organisations. Applicants should
have a good honours degree in a relevant discipline and will be expected to
register for a higher degree. EPSRC eligibility requirements apply.
