I have not seen the Cyber Dialogue survey (how can I get a copy?) and wonder
how they derived their figures. I also wonder if it gives POPULATION figures
for how many have ACCESS to the Internet at home? So many of these Internet
surveys just count page hits on the WWW which only gives us very limited
information. The IMPORTANT thing to know is (eg) amongst people:
a) aged <20, 21-40, 41-60,61+ in the state of X, or
b) black, white
c) male, female
d) rich, poor
what percentage have access at home to the Internet and how many of them
have used it. That is we need some proper 'epidemiology' of Internet use. Do
to such a survey (properly) you need to do a postal or interview survey of a
geographical region (I MIGHT accept figures from a telephone survey but this
would overestimate prevalence of access in poorer groups)
......Do such figures exist in YOUR country? If so, where can I get details
of the report?
Thanks Ray
