I can't see it being worth re-writing if it currently works, and you'll
only be using it for your PhD. Much better to do science than
debugging for the next 9 months. If there is other use for the code
a re-write might be in order, but I'd do it by introducing f90
structures from the top down, as its much easier to call f77 like
code from f90 than the reverse.
Putting in implicit none and expressing an opinion on all the
undefined variables would be well worthwhile though, and it might
well reveal currently hidden bugs.
