Interval arithmetic, as such, is no longer on the Fortran to-do list.
It was removed so as not to slip the schedule more than it's already
slipping. It would have slipped with interval arithmetic in the work
plan, because most of the people interested in interval arithmetic can
no longer come to J3 meetings.
There is still some low-level work aimed at making implementation of
new data types, such as interval arithmetic, extended precision, Taylor
series, ..., more efficient and easier to do.
