I missed the 'snippet' as I took Keston's 'signature as indicating the end
of the mail. Now I'd certainly agree that the piece has 'pace and swerve'
but I can't see this as a 'drama of a resultless prosody'. If anything, I'd
hazard that the ghosts of antique Odes hover behind its form, perhaps even
as old as another exponent of the body-force-rhythms, one Pindar. Sport
rules. That it catches the speed of urban life is certain, but so do
countless American cop shows etc. I'd suspect that the form precludes
questioning of the environment. That Keston ought to be thanked for sharing
such striking writing is summat I wholeheartedly endorse.
