Nicholas Johnson has an article on Bill GRiffiths in Lynx which
can be found at
http://www.bath.ac.uk/~exxdgdc/lynx.html
Click on the Contributors/Index Page then Click on Nick.
There is also a poem by Bill. I cant remember the connection
with the POets' Voice article. Perhaps it is an expanded version.

I'd certainly second the statements on Mr.Tapscott -
like other Griffith's work I've read, an exhilirating
read - but statements like 'one lyrical
sonnet for every spell in solitary confinement' (or somesuch)
in his intro to Starfish Jail will ensure he remains
unpalatable to most poetry readers.
Can any listmembers tell me of any essays or critical studies that
have been done on Griffith's work? (I've only read the introductory
essay by Nicholas Johnson that appeared a few years ago in
The Poet's Voice).

Having this year read through all of the (considerable) booklets that
Patricia Farrell and I have collected of Bill Griffiths, this year, I can
confirm the opinion Ric has of him. The impressive range, the radical
commitment to unpopular views, his mercurial wit; e.g.
What better disguise for evil
than sonnets?
How can you divide
without rhyme?
How can you obey
without art?
O be ready
there are some sick mysteries and mirages
in the sweetest story.
from Invisible Books'
Rousseau and the Wicked.
his ability to use archaic models, the boat journals, the handwritten,
handpainted books.
A nomadic treasure.
