The reading celebrates the publication of "OTHER: BRITISH & IRISH POETRY
SINCE 1970" eds. Caddel and Quartermain, Wesleyan University Press 1999.
Both poets are well-known and highly praised performers of their work,
which has been published widely in UK and USA. MAGGIE O'SULLIVAN from
Hebden Bridge is the editor of "OUT OF EVERYWHERE: Linguistically
innovative poetry by women in North America and the UK" and her collection
"PALACE OF REPTILES" is due from Sun and Moon Press. BILL GRIFFITHS lives
in Seaham and is currently curator of the Eric Mottram Poetry Archive at
Kings College London - his work appeared briefly in the Paladin anthology
"FUTURE EXILES". His numerous collections include "ROUSSEAU & THE WICKED"
(Invisible Books 1996).
The reading is followed later the same evening by Bill Herbert's
celebration of Stan Laurel, Robins Cinema, North Road, 9pm and you can get
a ticket for both events for seven pounds/five pounds from the Tourist
Information Centre.
