Motion Analysis and Tracking
Monday 10 May 1999
Colloquium to be held at IEE, Savoy Place, London
http://www.iee.org.uk/Events/e10may99.htm
Developments in motion analysis and tracking features or objects over
time in image sequences has been one of the key factors in the emergence
of new applications for Computer Vision and Image Processing in recent
years. Techniques for estimating motion, tracking objects and inferring
3-D structure from motion are finding increased use in areas ranging
from
multimedia and virtual reality to telemedicine, traffic monitoring and
video compression. Much of the new research and industrial exploitation
of this exciting area is taking place within the UK
The colloquium will begin with a keynote talk by Professor Andrew Blake
of the Robotics Research Group at the University of Oxford and the
programme will consist of contributions from the major UK research
groups
working in the area. The event will provide a broad summary of the
current state-of-the-art and will be of interest to researchers and
application developers from all sectors.
