ROMANTIC COUPLINGS: 27 MARCH 1999
While that most famous of Romantic partnerships, between Wordsworth
and Coleridge, defines for many the idea of poetic collaboration, this
conference seeks to demystify and to open up the notion of pairing to
explore less-well-travelled ground. Coupling is both tangible and
insubstantial, textual and electronic: it is both real and imaginary.
Speakers include Nirten Birlik, Glenn Dibert-Himes, Tim Fulford, Lidia
Garbin, Jane Hodson, Michael Simpson, and Ashley Tauchert. The
Keynote Speaker is Nora Crook, who will be discussing ‘Pecksie and the
Elfin Knight, or, Did the Shelleys couple Romantically?’
