One-day conference organized by the Princeton Eighteenth-Century Society

vRobert Darnton: 'Policing Eighteenth-Century Poetry in Paris'.
The Princeton Eighteenth-Century Society will host its conference on March
18, 2000 on the topic Truth and Lies in the Enlightenment.
Interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged: philosophical aspects of
truth, history vs. fiction, insincerity, hypocrisy, etc.
Please send all proposals for 20-minute papers (abstract of approximately
200 words, in English) by email or regular mail by February 10, 2000 to
