For the Popular Culture Association/ American Culture Association in New
Orleans on April 19-22, 2000.
I am requesting papers on any and all aspects of the gothic in literature and
culture. I'm especially interested in new ways of formulating the scenes or
forms that we think of as gothic. Papers on a variety of historical periods,
geographies, and subjects are welcome.
Send 100 word abstracts to the address below (please note that it is
different from the one published in the PCA/ACA flyer) by 9/5/99.
(Note: Because New Orleans is Anne Rice's hometown, papers on her works will
have their own area this year. Please contact Kay Rout, Dept. of American
Thought and Language, 277 Bessey Hall, Michigan State University, East Lansing,
MI 48824, email [log in to unmask] for Anne Rice proposals)
Proposals may be sent by email, Fax (517/353-3755) or conventional mail.
