The Centro de Estudos Ataide Oliveira (University of the Algarve,
Portugal) publishes the yearly journal
_ESTUDOS DE LITERATURA ORAL_ ("Studies in Oral Literature"),
devoted to the study of all aspects of oral literature.
Four issues have appeared so far.
Nš 4 (1998) contains 12 articles, about lyrical songs, folktales,
legends, proverbs, theory and history of oral literature, and, with
particular interest to the Ballad list correspondents, 2 articles on the
Iberian ballad (romances). Besides, this issue includes 7 reviews, 2 of
which on books about Iberian ballads.
Articles are written in English, Portuguese, Italian, Catalan and
Spanish. Every article written in a language other than English is follwed
by an English abstract.

_Estudos de Literatura OraL_ WELCOMES ARTICLES AND REVIEWS on any
genre of oral literature from any country. Articles can have up to 20
pages; if larger, they should be split in order to be published in several
issues. Notes and reviews can have up to 5 pages each.
Accepted languages: English and all Romance languages.
Nš 5 (1999), which shoud be out by the end of this year, is already
full. But you can send us your texts for nš 6 (2000).
