Hello...I haven't used this mailbase before but I have been fascinated with
all the letters arriving in my mailbox about lullabies! I was wondering if
anyone could help me..I have started researching ballads for my Doctorate
and am trying to study the role of the ballad, not necessarily in strict
ballad form but the role as a public expression or pronouncement in 20th
Century Scottish and German poetry. I am looking at old, traditional
ballads as a road into the work but would be interested if anyone had ideas
of particular singers/poets I could be looking at or of how the ballad
itself has come to be used in this century.
Thank you for any insights you may have!
I was also trying to send a letter to Barbara Boock and couldn't get it to
send, it is here as an attachment (in GErman!)
all the best
