Subject: ANNOUNCE: SPSS users - workshop and formation of special
interest group for Marketing/Market Research

Apologies for multiple postings to discussion lists.

Please note that although SPSS UK Ltd are hosting and helping with the
administration of the particular event described below, this is on behalf
of ASSESS, an independent non profitmaking user group.

PLEASE DO NOT USE YOUR 'REPLY' BUTTON.

------------

                  ASSESS: SPSS USERS' GROUP

Marketing And Market Research Special Interest Group (MMRSIG)

Inaugural Meeting to be held at
SPSS UK Ltd, Woking, Surrey on Friday 20 August 1999

In response to request from several ASSESS members, we are creating a
special interest group for those involved in marketing and market
research. The inaugural meeting will take place on Friday August 20th,
and is to be held at the SPSS offices in Woking, familiar to most
members of ASSESS!

Instead of simply holding a meeting, we will also be arranging a
workshop, with a mixture of product news and practical sessions. The
focus will be on some of the more essential but less glamorous processes
that are essential tools for the marketer, but which are often
overlooked - and often processed with software other than SPSS.
Speakers include Simon Dunkley (Harte-Hanks) and David Bottomley (Merlin
Analytical Solutions), both formerly of SPSS UK Ltd, as well as current SPSS
staff.

SPSS UK Ltd have kindly agreed to host and administer this event on our
behalf, and any proceeds will be used to fund future ASSESS events.

Since not everyone who uses SPSS has made use of SPSS syntax, the
session starts early for those who habitually hit the Run button, and
shows what can happen if you choose to click on Paste instead.
