Hi
As agreed at the Academy of Marketing conference in June when the special
interest group was convened, I approcahed members of the Arts Marketing
Association management committee.
The chairman Tim Baker promised he would consider forms of co-operation and
a joint meeting
however I have not heard anything
I will get in touch, see what he has to say and get back to you
some of you will know my belief that it is perhaps up to us to push things
along by suggesting formats to them...
Cheers
Iain

Subject: AMA ACTIVITY
Hi
I picked this up on the Dispatches weekly e-paper (see our intro file for
web
and subscription reference).
Does anyone know how far we are along with talking to the AMA?
Cheers

>> HAPPENINGS <<
+++ Promoting New Work
The Arts Marketing Association (AMA) supports a wide range
of events for its members, providing an opportunity for
them to learn more about best practice in marketing and
new approaches. However a lot of marketing practice is
based more on instinct than sound research, especially
when it comes to putting on new work. So Heather
Maitland's forthcoming workshop 'Is it Time for Plan B?',
should be very welcome as it is based on Arts Council
funded research into marketing new work in the UK.
Maitland is General Manager at Midlands Arts Marketing,
and her workshop will explore the main findings, and look
at the barriers to communicating with audiences about new
work.
The workshop is running three times: 16 November in
Bristol, 22 November in Nottingham and 23 November in
London. Sessions run from 1:30 - 4.30, and cost UKP25
(AMA members) or UKP35. More details and booking from
Julie Aldridge at the AMA on 01223 578078."
