I am in the process of registering for a part-time MPhil/PhD in audience
development in the performing arts. I plan to undertake a two year programme
of action learning in conjunction with David Jackson, chief executive of The
Audience Business (TAB), Edinburgh's audience development agency and the
first to get off the ground in Scotland. Like all plans, it is taking longer
to get underway than I would like. the immediate delay is caused by the need
to allow the new head of the Scottish Arts Council, and another new
appointee in charge of audience development to settle in.
My work at present is focused on literature search and development of a
bibliography, and the formulation of a questionnaire for marketing audit of
a theatre. How do you measure marketing performance?
I've been putting together a bibliography on "endnote" and wondered whether
we should be putting up an arts heritage marketing webpage with a
bibliography to which we could all contribute
I've lots of ideas, and would like to meet....
