Gotta say, the "socially engaged art practice" phrase, has always
irked-me... It assumes that regular art-practice _isn't somehow
socially-engaged and that there must be some "special, lofty, (inevitably,
officious-)" sanctioned art-practice fits this criteria. It also
effectively shuts-out the "real" art that isn't either artworld-sanctioned
or "socially-engaged-authenticated." A blind-alley.
