To add a slightly different perspective to this discussion, if you're
managing this sort of material as current records i.e. records which in the
event of a disaster would be necessary for the resumption of business, and
the recreation of the portfolio of (property) assets etc., then leases would
serve the same purpose as any other 'title deeds'. The function, in this
case, is more important than the document type, but I imagine that this may
also be a useful thing to reflect in an archival catalogue, as well as in a
current system. The document' s purpose, or the transaction it represents,
is more useful information for the researcher, than the intimate details of
archival terminology.
