Virus Warning
Please inform all your staff of the following...
There have been several new viruses found recently which can cause a lot of
damage to data files. They are spread through e-mail. If you receive an
e-mail message from an unknown source, or are suspicious of an attachment in
any way, then delete it or check its source BEFORE opening. It can always be
sent again if you've made a mistake.
Recent attachments which are definately viruses are:
"SUPPL.DOC" - this may be attached to ANY e-mail without the sender being aware
"Y2KCOUNT" - this attachment comes with a fake message from Microsoft support
DELETE THESE MESSAGES/ATTACHMENTS IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT OPENING THEM!
Another virus on the go propogates mail messages itself with the subject about
"Internet problem year 2000". If you run the fix attached it infects your pc
and sends on the message using your e-mail account without you knowing.
If you get any of the above through the e-mail system then please let me know
ASAP - also, let the person who sent you the e-mail know too so they can stop
infecting systems...
Many thanks
