British Railways Board Record Centre

The Records Centre at Royal Oak is the custodian of the records of the
British Railways Board and acts as the conduit between the Board, the Public
Record Office, the National Railway Museum and County/Local Record Offices
for papers no longer required by the Board.
The Centre is seeking to appoint three additional qualified archivists to
help sort, catalogue and prepare correspondence, documents, maps and plans
for transmission to the various publicly accessible archives. In addition to
holding a post graduate qualification, candidates are expected to be
computer literate, and a knowledge of railway history would be an advantage.
A twelve month fixed term contract at a salary of £17,557, including London
allowance, will be offered to successful candidates. Support will be given
to candidates wishing to embark on the Society of Archivists
Pre-Registration Scheme.
