Hello everyone
Anyone interested in the response of the archival community to the destruction of personal records during the recent conflict in Kosovo may be interested in looking out a report in yesterday's (Mon 14 June) Independent with the above subject as headline. The report features a picture of a soldier on a mound of identity passes and says "thousands" of documents were found after only 2 hours' search by the British (Army) Intelligence Corps.
The Independent compares this discovery to that of personal property of Nazi victims after WW2 - so we need not feel we are barking up the wrong human rights tree after all.
