JISC: SPECIALISED RESEARCH COLLECTIONS IN THE HUMANITIES
Preservation Microfilming, Scottish Newspapers Microfilming Unit, Edinburgh
Friday 16th July 1999
Following the format of the two Seminars at
Cambridge University Library last
Year, and in the interest of the continued
preservation of archives and special collections,
the NFF committee have agreed to fund a final
seminar to give an overview of all aspects to be
considered when planning and implementing a
preservation microfilming programme. The
programme will combine practical demonstrations
of the microfilming process, from preparation of
the material to checking the final film, with
presentations covering microfilming as a
preservation method; project management issues
including standards and budgets; project
administration processes and planning in-house
and out-house programmes. The Seminar is open
only to people employed in HEI's that received
funding from the Non-formula funding
initiative for Specialised Research Collections.
Places are limited. An Information Pack will be
provided.
Full programme details will be posted next week but you can register now
using the form given below.
