A REGIONAL ARCHIVES COUNCIL FOR LONDON?
A seminar organised by the Greater London Archives Network and London
Archives Users Forum
Wednesday 7 July 1999 6pm for 6.30pm start
Local History Room, Institute of Historical Research
Senate House, Malet Street, London WC1
Victor Gray, Nationanl Council on Archives will speak about the
development of Regional Archives Councils. This will be followed by a
session for questions and discussion.
The new Museums Libraries and Archives Commission (MLAC) will support
archives on a regional basis. Regional Archive Councils are being set up
outside London to provide a voice for archive services. The number of
specialist archives in London makes it a special case. Should London have
a Regional Archives Council and how would it work?
If you use London's archives, or have custody of them, we would like to
hear your views.
To book a place for the meeting (numbers are limited to 80) please
post/fax your name and organisation to David Mander, Hackney Archives
Department, 43 De Beauvoir Road, London N1 5SQ, ph: 0171-241 2886, FAX:
0171-241 6688.
