This is my first message to the List. I am a biologist and had so far nothing
to do with archeology until I red by accident that the doughter of Cheops and
the early Libyans (Tamahu) in the third milenium had red/blond hair. The
problem for a biologist: Where did the ancestors of the Pharao and the Tamahu
came from?
For biological reasons they might have come from the North. Lack of
UV-radiation in the North, consquently an insufficient Vitamin D synthesis in
the deeper layers of the skin, development of a typical ´nordic´disease, the
rickets which enforced a genetic adaption.
The originally UV-protective ´african´ dark skin of our ancestors lost its
black pigment (Melanin) thus allowing the fading nothern UV-radiation to
penetrate the depigmentated skin mor deeply.. A development during some
thousend years in an isolated(!) nothern area. So far biology.)
Back to arch-metals. My question: Where did the tin of early Sumer and
Aegean/Troy came from? I learned in the List that about 1800 B.C. tin reached
Mari by donkey caravan from Susa and that tin was sent on from Mari westwards
to Ugarit and perhaps even to Crete.
The problem: Bronze appeared about 600 years earlier in Ur und Troy II. How
far is it ´proven´ that the tin in the bronze of Troy originated in Afghan?
This in mind just an idea.
With a boat it is relatively easy to reach the tin sources in the Erzgebirge
in middle of Germany. Between 1512 until 1580 an output of 250 000 kg of tin
is documented. I tried to get more information about the tin of the
Erzgebirge. So far Muhly only mentioned this area. Herodot (3/115) „ Tin and
amber come from the extrem end (äußersten Enden )" Cornwall or Erzgebirge?
A hypothesis: Supposed that in the megalithic area of the western Baltic Sea.
(Denmark, Schleswig-Holstein- Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) small groups start to
leave their homeland. by sea along the coast or along the river. (The
beginning of an permament emigration later on in historical times known as
the Indo-European Migration?) They reached about 3000 B.C.North-Africa,
Egypt, the Aegean , the Black Sea and Palestine. Such a migration could help
to explain the as yet ´unknown (?)´origin of the Megalithic Tombs in
Northafrica, Palestine, Black Sea: Varna Krim (?) and the Kuban and could
explain for a biologist the red-haired doughter of Pharao Cheops.
(Baltis Sea - Erzgebirge via: Elbe/Saale about 400 km to the nothern
´megalith- area´. The same distande to the Donau .The Dolmen in the North were
built about 3600 B.C.)
Best whishes
