NATIONAL EVALUATION OF SCHOOL BREAKFAST CLUBS
THREE RESEARCHERS
We are seeking to appoint three researchers to a one year
evaluation of School Breakfast Clubs. This is a major
national initiative funded under the NHS Research and
Development Programme. The evaluation is
inter-disciplinary and cross professional. It is likely
that one of the researchers appointed will have expertise
in health economics research, but others may come from a
range of traditions within social science research. At
least one of those appointed will bring experience of
managing a research project and analysing and writing up
complex data sets. We will expect to appoint researchers
who complement each other and who are experienced in one or
more of the following:
· Economic evaluation methods
· Quantitative and/or qualitative methods of data
collection and analysis
· Survey research and Randomised
Controlled Trials
· Interviewing (unstructured and/or
standardised)
· Case study research
· Developing and administering outcome measurement tools ·
Ethnographic research techniques e.g. naturalistic
observation
All researchers appointed will have well developed
interpersonal skills and will be comfortable working with
other members of the team who will come from a variety of
research traditions. An interest in inter-professional,
multi-method research is essential. This is a national
project and researchers must be willing to travel
throughout England.
Appointments will be on the Research and Analogous Staff
scale 1B, £16,286 to £18,185 per annum or the 1A scale,
£16,286 to £24,479 per annum, dependent upon
qualifications and experience.
