STATISTICIAN
Applications are invited for the post of statistician in this
expanding and innovative department. The appointee’s
main responsibility will be the analysis of data from a
multicentre randomised placebo controlled trial of a lipid
lowering agent in type 2 diabetic patients, the Collaborative
Atorvastatin Diabetes Study (CARDS). Involvement in the
other research interests of the department will be welcomed
and encouraged.
Applicants should have a degree in a numerate discipline
with a grounding or qualification in medical statistics, and
preferably have an MSc in medical statistics. Experience in
the analysis of large data sets and in the use of SAS and/or
STATA is essential.
The appointment will be to 31/12/2000 with the expectation
of further extension. Salary in the range £18,420 - £28,563
per annum inclusive.
