You may know that the Royal Statistical Society is computerising the card
catalogue for the Society's collection of 8,000 or so historical books and
manuscripts, to help with future handling of the collection.
We are grateful to Allstat members who responded to Paul Gentry's request
for volunteers during the summer and we are now well into the data inputting
task. However, further volunteers would be welcome! This would ensure that
we meet our target of completing the cataloguing by mid October.
The inputting is to Excel spreadsheet and about 50 cards can be done in one
hour. Volunteers can either arrange to do some inputting at the Society's
London headquarters (Errol St), or Paul Gentry will send you a reasonable
number of cards with the Excel sheet on disk and instructions so that you
can input data locally.
Please contact Paul Gentry now!
