CONSULTANT
The SSU provides professional consultancy and training across a broad
range of application areas of statistics, as well as services to
researchers within the University and Sheffield Central Hospitals. With
clients ranging in size from small private companies to large
multi-nationals and public utilities, the SSU offers its consultants a
challenging opportunity to gain a rare breadth of experience in the
practical application of statistics. In particular, it has extensive
involvement in: analysis and reporting of clinical trials in the
pharmaceutical industry; auditing of performance measurements in the
rail industry; providing consultancy to the health service; the design,
analysis and reporting of surveys; and the delivery of statistics workshops.
We are currently looking to expand our services and therefore require an
additional consultant. Applicants should possess a good honours
degree, including a substantial element of statistics, or a postgraduate
qualification in statistics. Work experience in the areas outlined above
would be especially welcome, although not essential. In addition, you
should have the following personal qualities: an enthusiastic approach to
the practical application of statistics; good communication skills;
commercial awareness; an ability to work to deadlines; and an attention
to detail.
Salary in the range: stlg16,286 to stlg20,811 pa.
