Lectureship in Statistics
Candidates with research interests in any branch of
statistics or applied probability are invited to apply
for a Lectureship in Statistics in the Department of
Mathematics tenable from 1 October 1999 or a date
to be arranged. Academic staff in the statistics group
are expected to carry out both research and teaching
to an excellent standard; with this in mind teaching
loads are relatively light. The Department offers a
stimulating environment with first-rate facilities.
The statistics group was rated 5A in the 1996 RAE.
The salary will be on the Lecturer A or B scale
(currently 16,655 - 21,815, 22,726 - 29,048 pounds
p.a., respectively). In the event of a really strong
field of applicants, there is a possibility of making
two appointments.
Applications quoting reference number 5647 with a C.V.
and the names of three referees should be sent to:
Personnel Office (EO), Senate House, Bristol BS8 1TH, UK.
