MEDICAL STATISTICIAN
(Approximately 20 hours)
Clinical Scientist B c. # 21 - 23000 pro rata dependant on
experience
United Bristol Health Healthcare Trust is one of the largest
NHS providers in the country and its staff, and those in the
community that it serves, are involved in many and diverse
aspects of research to improve patient care. The Trusts
Research and Development Strategy is to further develop the
role of research in improving clinical effectiveness by
supporting staff-led research and promoting research skills.
The Research and Development Support Unit plays a key role
in this task and as an experienced Medical Statistician you
will help to expand the service offered and provide expert
statistical support to all UBHT and health care staff
undertaking research work. You will be expected to
contribute to the educational and training activities of the
Unit in relation to statistics, methodology and analysis.
You will have a postgraduate qualification in Statistics or
Medical Statistics and at least 3 years experience of
undertaking statistical work within a medical setting.
Statistics teaching or training experience, knowledge of the
NHS, exposure to a variety of medical research, and good
communication skills would all be highly desirable.
