READERSHIP/LECTURESHIP
IN PROBABILITY AND STATISTICS
Applications are invited for a post as Reader or Lecturer in Probability
and Statistics. The post is available from lst September 1999 and will
be offered at Reader or Lecturer level depending on the experience and
calibre of the successful candidate.
Applicants should have a strong record of original research in any area
of Probability and Statistics though preference is likely to be given to
candidates whose interests promise interactions with existing areas of
research. In the 1996 Research Assessment Exercise, the School was
awarded a 5 rating in Statistics and Operational Research and the post is
part of the School's strategy to further enhance its research profile.
The Reader or Lecturer will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate
teaching within the School of Mathematical Sciences, pursue research,
supervise research students and undertake administrative responsibilities.
For appointment as Reader the salary will be in the range £32,630-£36,598
and as Lecturer in the range £18,789- £31,182 per annum, including London
weighting.
