MEDICAL STATISTICIAN/SENIOR MEDICAL STATISTICIAN
Applications are invited for the above role based at the NYCTRU, Cookridge
Hospital, Leeds. The role is extremely varied and includes involvment in:
Development of funding applications
Design of multi-centre clinical trials
Statistical monitoring of multi-centre clinical trials
Statistical analysis and reporting of multi-centre clinical trials
Contribution to teaching on the unit's 'Research Methods' course for health
care professionals
Providing statistical consultancy to health care professionals
Contribution to further development of the NYCTRU
Specialist training is provided when necessary and opportunities exist for
both contribution to and attendance at relevent conferences.
The NYCTRU is a multi-disciplinary unit comprising of 23 staff in total -
statisticians, trial co-ordinators, programmers and support staff. It
conducts regional, national and international randomised clinical trials in
a variety of clinical fields and also has an associated research portfolio
including research into informed consent, quality of life and public views
on research.
Applicants should be able to work well within a multidisciplinary team, have
excellent communication skills, and ideally have a postgraduate
qualification in medical statistics or statistics and/or some relevant
experience.
Salary: Other Related Staff Grade1 (£15,735 - £17,570p.a.) or Grade 2
(£18,275 - £23,651 p.a.) depending on level of experience
