The 19th Conference on Applied Statistics in Ireland, CASI –1999,
will be held at the Dunadry Inn Hotel and Country Club, Dunadry,
near Templepatrick, Northern Ireland during May 26th-28th, 1999.
As usual there will be four major sessions led by invited speakers.
Dr. Sheila Gore of the MRC-Biostatistics Unit, Cambridge (on BSE and
nvCJD),
Professor David Balding of Reading University (on Modelling Genes)
Dr. John Fox of the Office of National Statistics (on Official
Statistics)
Professor Dennis Conniffe, ESRI Dublin (on Likelihood)
The organisers are seeking contributed papers (and/or posters) on
the main themes of the Conference:
Agricultural Statistics,
Medical Statistics (including Epidemiology),
Official Statistics and
General Statistics (methodological or applied).
Detailed abstracts of contributed papers (1min/2 max pages of A4)
on the above or related topics should be forwarded to
the organisers below as soon as possible. The final deadline for
receipt of abstracts is Friday, March 26th.

The conference has become the main forum in Ireland for
methodological development in Statistics and has gained a
reputation for its hospitality over the years. The Dunadry
Inn is a pleasant 4-star hostelry with its own leisure centre
set in 10 acres convenient to Aldergrove international airport
and 15 miles from Belfast City Centre.
