Design and analysis of pharmacogenomic studies
Funding has been obtained from a US biotechnology company for this post in the rapidly
developing field of pharmacogenomics. Funding is for three years, subject to
satisfactory performance, with the possibility of extension into a fourth year. The
successful applicant will develop statistical methods for the design and analysis of
clinical studies which incorporate and exploit genetic variation affecting patient
response.
Candidates should have a PhD in statistics or equivalent research experience. Training
in
genetics is not required, although a keen interest in understanding
the genetical
processes underlying the statistical modelling is
essential. The successful applicant
will join a lively research group
working on recent developments in both medical
statistics and statistical genetics.
Salary range: 15,735--19,197.
