Readership in Statistics and Lectureship in Statistics
Applications are invited for a Readership and a Lectureship in
Statistics within the Department of Mathematical Sciences, to enlarge
the Statistics group within the Department. The Reader will have an
established research reputation in any branch of Statistics,
Probability or Operations Research, and will be expected to make a
substantial commitment to the research activities of the group. The
Lecturer will have an active research record in one of the above
areas. Both appointees will be expected to undertake teaching and
other duties as directed by the Board of Studies in Mathematical
Sciences.
The Statistics group currently comprises two professors (Michael
Goldstein, Mathew Penrose), five lecturers, and four research staff,
associated with collaborative EPSRC research projects and a thriving
statistical consultancy unit.
Research interests of the group include many areas of Probability and
Statistics (particularly Bayesian methodologies). Information about
