Dear All,
does anybody out there have a macro for taking a random sample from a table
of records, strictly within MS Access?
I know one (very clumsy!) way of doing it: append the table to a new table
that has a random autonumber, sort on the autonumber, append to a new table
that has a sequential autonumber, select query on autonumber <= N. But
that's just horrible. Surely there is a better way in a Visual Basic loop
(e.g. using the algorithm of the well-known, web-accessible SAS macro) ...
would some kind soul spare me the trouble of learning the gruesome details
of yet another programming language?
Any help much appreciated
