One issue common both to Bayesian image analysis and to a Bayesian
treatment of mixture distributions is the choice of an appropriate
estimator. Generally there are only a few loss functions for which
the corresponding estimator is known. However it is possible to use
a two step estimation/optimisation approach for a much wider class
of loss functions in these cases, and this will be illustrated
using a mixture of regressions model.
