PCGs and their populations - what health information is
needed?
The Health Statistics Users Group is organising a conference
on the information needs or Primary Care Groups, to be held on
March 12 1999, at the Robins Suite, Guy's Hospital, London.
The introduction of Primary Care Groups is generating new
needs for both financial and public health information. This
conference will examine the kind of information and
infrastructure needed for PCGs, and will be structured around
three questions:
What are the roles of PCGs?
What are the information needs arising from these?
What are the issues in meeting these needs and what needs to
be done?
A programme for the day follows - there will be time for
discussion and questions from the floor at the end of each
presentation. This will be a 'working meeting', and the aim
will be to feed back health information users views to the
Department of Health, the Public Health Advisory Committee and
to Information Management Group, as part of consultation
process for implementing Information for Health.
Cost: the fees will be £80 for HSUG members and £90 for non
members (for non members this includes a year's membership to
HSUG).
