Dear all
Thanks to all who replied to my query on ways of picking lottery
numbers. Many were quite detailed even including directed graphs!
Most agreed with me. It does not matter how you select your numbers;
so long as you don't select the same set twice your chances of winning
are always the same abysmal odds!
Several people had ideas about trying to ensure you don't have to
share the prize, and thus maximise potential winnings.
In general, of course, if one bought a ticket for a Saturday draw
during the week, then one's chances of dying before the draw are
greater than the chances of winning. Perhaps one could produce a
timetable for each day of the week preceding the lottery, giving the age one has
to be below, so that ones chances of dying before the draw are less
than the chance of winning!
