Research Officer
As a statistical consultant, you will provide specialist advice and support in
all areas of health research including developing research questions, project
design, questionnaire design, computing, data analysis and interpretation of
results.
Under supervision, you will be required to develop new statistical methods for
application to vaccine research trials involving mathematical modelling of
bacterial carriage, transmission, and antibiotic resistance. Also, taking the
lead in the analysis of case control studies of susceptibility to meningococcal
disease.
This research can lead to a higher degree, although an applicant who already
possesses a doctorate would be encouraged to apply. There will also be scope for
economic research including cost-benefit analysis. You must have a masters
level degree in a statistics related subject as well as experience in
descriptive and multivariate statistical methods.
Salary £18,420 pa - £26,613 pa inclusive
