SENIOR BIOSTATISTICIAN
The Department of Medical Epidemiology is a multi-discipline research group
at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. The department is engaged in
research covering a broad spectrum of diseases and works extensively with
national registers and large prospective cohorts.
We currently have an opening for a senior biostatistician. The primary role
of the position is the provision of statistical advice and support within
the department, although opportunities exist for pursuing independent
research. The successful applicant will provide statistical advice to
clinicians and epidemiologists on the design, analysis, and reporting of
epidemiological studies.
It is envisaged that the successful applicant will hold a doctoral degree in
statistics or related discipline and have several years' experience in the
provision of statistical advice and consultancy to health researchers. A
doctoral degree is not, however, a requirement and more weight will be given
to the level of experience in applied biostatistics. Knowledge of
epidemiology and experience with SAS is an advantage.
The Department of Medical Epidemiology currently employs 100 staff. The
current position will be filled in the department's analysis group, which
comprises 2 IT professionals, 3 programmers, 3 Ph.D. statisticians, and will
soon include a full professor in biostatistics.
