STUDENTSHIPS IN STATISTICS, PROBABILITY AND OPERATIONAL
RESEARCH AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL
The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of
Liverpool will award up to two studentships in Statistics,
Probability and O.R. for research leading to a Ph.D.
degree, to commence October 1999.
These awards are available to candidates eligible for EPSRC awards and will
be made in advance of the outcome of EPSRC applications,
thereby underwriting these applications. Awards will be
subject to the achievement of a first class honours degree.
Successful applicants will receive an additional bursary of
1000 pounds in the first year of study.
The research interests of the Statistics and O.R. Division
include Time Series, Medical Statistics, Applied
Probability and Stochastic Processes; and the modelling and
optimisation of networks (O.R.). For further information
