RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Reliability Modelling
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a two year research project
with Rolls-Royce Commercial Aero Engines to develop methods for
identifying factors contributing to improved engine reliability. The
project uses scientific, engineering and statistical techniques to
understand the most important influences on engine life. The
appointment is for one year in the first instance.
We are looking for a research assistant with a good degree in a
mathematical, scientific or engineering discipline and with an aptitude
for software development. The salary will be on the R1A scale, up to
pounds 17,570 including London Allowance

RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Simulation Modelling
This project is part of the Ultra Reliable Aircraft Project. The task
is to develop software for translating system descriptions into state
transition matrices as input to simulation models. A research assistant
is required to develop the software and user interfaces for use in an
object oriented environment.
We are looking for a research assistant with a first or higher degree in
a mathematical, scientific or engineering discipline, with knowledge of
probability and simulation modelling, and with an aptitude for software
development. The appointment is for one year. The salary will be on
the R1A scale, up to pounds 19,197 including London Allowance
