This is in a sense a message for the ALLSTAT list owner, but
on balance I *think* that I should also share it with the
list membership.
In subscribing to ALLSTAT a couple of months ago, I find
that I have joined a community which exercises my interests
in Statistics (and some who are interested in keyboard
instruments!) but that I am oppressed considerably by the
great volume of Job Advertisements which are distributed here.
I am one, and I suppose there may be others, who has no
intention of seeking a new job, nor of advising others who
may be job seekers. On the other hand, I can see that there
are likely to be many persons for whom immediate notification
of selected job advertisements in statistics etc. must be
highly valuable.
So, I suggest, could ALLSTAT be even better if organised
as two separate lists - one for the Job Advertisments and
one for the other/general/substantive discussions? Those
who wanted only one service could subscribe to only that one,
those wanting both could subscribe to both. What do others
think?
