Hello Allstatters,
I'm looking for an elementary textbook on multivariate analysis. I'm a
biologist at a research institute and I'm quite often asked by my
colleagues to give them advice on multivariate stuff. (No, please
DON'T ask me why there isn't a statistician to advise them!)
I'd like to have something to give them to read to explain the basics
of multivariate analysis. The most elementary book I know of is by
Brian Manly, "Multivariate Statistical Methods", which my colleagues
tell me is too advanced, so I need something simpler than that (we're
dealing with molecular biologists here!)
An undergraduate student doing biology strongly recommended an
appropriate book by Mick Alt, "Exploring hyperspace : a
non-mathematical explanation of multivariate analysis", but it's out
of print.
Many thanks in advance,
James Brown
