STATISTICIAN
We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Statistician to join the
professorial Department of Addictive Behaviour and Psychological Medicine. If
you have experience in the application of research methodology and statistics in
psycho-social/medical research and are keen to work within a dynamic and busy
academic department, this post will interest you.
Applicants should have an honours degree in statistics (a relevant post graduate
qualification would be an advantage) together with experience of applying
statistical models, including experience in health. Experience in mental health
and/or addiction research will be an advantage. Competence in the use of
packages such as SPSS is essential.
This post offers the opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary Academic
Department and to play an active role in developing and co-ordinating research
activities and opportunities to undertake teaching and education within the
undergraduate and postgraduate course within the Department.
The post is tenable for a period of one year and the salary will be on the
salary scale 1A or 1B for Research Staff, according to qualifications and
experience. There are opportunities to register for a PhD.
